Hello all,
I have received two reports of a numbers station appearing on 14280 kHz
in AM mode(!) at 1000 hrs GMT on both Wednesday 2 November and Wednesday
16 November. I shall be standing by to phone Baldock if it appears on
Wednesday 23rd and would welcome reports/action from anyone else who
hears it.
The reports came from John, M0ELS who also sent in a recording. I have
attached it and would welcome any comments re the language or possible id.
Regards,
Chris G4BOH

Dear fellow Intruder Busters,
as you can read in BC plan B11 Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (= IRIB) since today (30 October 11) is tx-ing on 7200 kHz. I have just heard it myself with warmup (carrier) 2055-2100 and s/on px at 2100 UTC. The px started with the National Anthem of Iran followed by Japanese language px. S/off will be at 2158 UTC. The signal strength was S9+20db with my TS-940S at a dipole antenna.
Pse listen yourself and report to your national telecoms. authorities for a written complaint to Tehran. Tnx for your good work!

Subject: [INTRUDER ALERT] Weird comms on 29.045Mhz
Sent by: intruderalert-bounces@iaru-r1.org
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Good evening everyone.
Just tuned in what seems to be an intruder on 29.045Mhz FM, using a speech inversion scrambler, with signals around s3 to s5 in strength.
I can only hear one side of the conversation in what seems to be a series of very short replies to the other side.
These signals disappeared at around 21:35 UTC.
The 10 meter band has been treating us to some tropo and short skip conditions tonight, with unsual paths opening up around the Iberian Peninsula. However, this is not the first time that I have noticed some intruder activity in the 29.000 to 29.200 area. I´ve spotted before one of those infamous church service transmissions, on a Sunday, (29.070Mhz FM) and some intruders that I suspect where from North Africa, on 29.175Mhz FM, more than once.
happy monitoring
Paulo, CT2IWW/IN51WF

Dear fellow Intruder Hunters,
meanwhile DARC-MonSys are 100 % shure about the "knitting pattern" of the IMs of TRT Radio Ankara:
QRG (kHz) Time s/on px time s/off px QRGs involved
*********** ********* ********** ************************
10110 1825 UTC 1925 UTC 9460 and 9785 kHz
14210 1723 UTC 1824 UTC 9460 and 11835 kHz
The QRG 9460 kHz is active already before and after the IMs. When 9785 kHz is switched on, 10110 appears, when 11835 kHz is switched on, 14210 appears, etc.. The signals are:
10110: S9+10dB (received with a dipole)
14210: S9+35dB (received with a 3-element beam)
Will you please alert your national telecoms authorities and invite them to send an International Complaint to Ankara, Turkey. Thank you very much for your activity!
The more complaints, the better!

Hi all,
As you may have seen from my entry in the March 2011 report, there has been a serious cause of QRM from a drift mode Sonde on all amateur allocations from 1810 to 5405 kHz. This installation is located in the UK and appears to have legal status. Following detailed analysis by G3PLX and considerable digging for information, he discovered that the equipment was ultimately the responsibility of its manufacturer, Lowell Digisonde International.
The OFCOM monitoring station at Baldock made numerous enquiries at my request and as a result, I was contacted by the CEO of this company and asked for the frequencies to be avoided in order to prevent interference to the amateur bands. I gave the band limits at 1.81, 3.5 and 5.2 MHz and included the 7 MHz band also, just in case there is a possibility of this equipment moving higher in frequency. In his reply, the CEO confirmed that the following frequencies would not be used by this equipment in future;-1780-2030 kHz, 3470-3830 kHz, 5220- 5440 kHz, and 6970-7230 kHz. The transmissions on our bands ceased immediately and the matter appears to have been concluded to our satisfaction.
My reason for going into this detail is that there may well be other installations around the world which have not protected the amateur bands from their operations. I believe that there will be a transmitter operating in this mode from Belgium very shortly, I do not know if the amateur bands have been ` notched out'. The transmission is very complex but it sounds like approximately 6 pulses per second over a 400 kHz band for two minutes at a time. In the UK it transmits at 8,23,38 and 53 minutes past the hour. Other installations may have their own time slot.
If any IW Co-ordinator has reports of this type of interference occurring in our bands, please get in touch and I will be happy to supply the contact details for the CEO who dealt with this problem. There was no problem with this company once they realised that their operation was causing interference. I suspect that they will cooperate if the same thing happens elsewhere.

Hi everyone,
I have recently received an email from Peter, G3PLX regarding an
unusual signal which has been heard by amateurs around the UK. He
writes;-
It transmits for two minutes every 15 minutes, starting at 8
minutes past the hour and occupies a bandwidth of 400kHz. During the
night it is parked at 1.7-2.1 MHz and during the daytime it moves up the
band, sometimes jumping around in successive 15-minute slots, so it
would seem to be following the critical frequency.
I have established that the signal is a short (100uS?) pulse repeating
at 10mS intervals, stepping upwards in frequency by 25kHz between
pulses. After 16 of these (i.e. after 160mS; after it has 'swept'
upwards by 400kHz), the pattern repeats. Listening on any spot
frequency, therefore, gives the impression of a pulse every 160mS, that
is, a pulse repetition rate of 6.25 per sec. but detailed examination of
this pulse shows a group of 2 or 3 pulses spaced 10mS apart.
I have heard this signal myself during the day and it seems to
move around different 400 kHz sectors each time it transmits. It is on
for 2 minutes only at 8,23,38, and 53 minutes past the hour. Can anyone
else hear it? I would be very interested to learn where it is received
strongly. I suspect that it will not be far from the UK but I am
prepared to be surprised.
Thanks in advance,

Hello everybody,
the BC is R.China Nei Menggu PBS starting at 2200 UTC with a Chinese px. At the same
time starts Sound-of-Hope from TWN. Possibly the "purpose" of the transmissions of
R.China is to <<< jam >>> Sound of Hope. Sometimes, instead of R.China, we have
monitored the Hainan Firedrake Jammer from CHN jamming S-o-H.
Pse look at www.iarums-r1.org for info.
