I am part of a group in Northern Queensland and we are getting support to operate on the AM mode on 40/80 meters bands on ANZAC DAY afternoon to commemorate the Spirit of the National Day of remembrance. During WW2, Korea, Malaysian and Vietnam wars AM was used and we feel that we can show our respect to our Veterans by doing likewise. We are hoping to have ex navy ships using it as well as as many netts and contacts as possible throughout Australia and New Zealand. we don't see it as a competition BUT as a sense of mate ship and respect for our veterans.
We would appreciate it if you were able to distribute it amongst the New Zealand Amateur radio fraternity.
Regards, Mike "banjo" Patterson VK4MIK
