Kiwi Digital Modes Group Twin Sprint Digital Contest

Saturday December 5th 2009 from 0800 UTC - 0900 UTC in Two Half Hour Periods

The Kiwi Digital Modes Group would like to announce the inaugural Twin Sprint Digital Contest to take place on Saturday December 5th 2009.

The contest is open to all licensed amateurs within the VK & ZL Call Areas.

The contest will run from 0800 UTC to 0900 UTC on 80 metres and will consist of two half hour periods of operation.

The first half hour period (0800 UTC - 0830 UTC) will be on PSK-31, and the second half hour period (0830 UTC - 0900 UTC) will be on RTTY.

Each station may be contacted once on each mode. To encourage participation between VK & ZL a points system will be used as follows:

* For each contact between a VK station and a ZL station 5 points.
* For each contact between stations working their own country, 1 point.

There will be a choice of three categories in which you can enter, they are:

1. PSK-31 Only (800 UTC - 0830 UTC).
2. RTTY Only (0830 UTC - 0900 UTC).
3. Combined PSK-31 & RTTY (0800 UTC - 0900 UTC).

Certificates will be awarded to the top three VK & ZL stations who participate in the PSK-31 & RTTY only categories.

Certificates will be awarded to the top three stations over all in the Combined Category, regardless of country of origin.

Logs are to contain the following:

* Time of QSO
* Callsign of station contacted
* Points claimed for each contact

A summary sheet containing the following:

* Operators Call
* Name and address
* Category entered
* Total points claimed
* A declaration stating that all rules and operating practises have been abided by.
