Jacques “Jacky” Calvo, ZL3CW, ZM1A, ZL8CW, F2CW (and many others) has owned a holiday home in Waihi Beach for many years. Over the years when present he would temporarily erect an 18m spider pole aerial. Last year he retired and decided to make it his permanent residence.
Now after extensively remodeling the house he desires to erect a Steppir 3E yagi plus 80m dipole and V/UHF aerials. One of his neighbours is strongly opposed and Jacky has to seek a Resource Consent. The estimated final cost will be over $2,500. Council staff did ask him to obtain a “qualified” Visual Assessment, for which a consultant quoted $3,750. He has refused to pay for that.
The application was advertised in the local papers on May 10 and May 15. Read the details on the website http://www.qsl.net/zm1a. We ask that you submit a supportive submission (to be lodged by 9 June) to help Jacky win the consent. If you live outside of the Bay of Plenty emphasise he needs to have the aerials to receive you.
