Position: Fund Raising Officer
Location: Unrestricted within New Zealand
Responsible To: NZART Council
Description of Position
NZART is a body that promotes Amateur Radio within New Zealand.
The Fund Raising Officer is appointed by NZART Council to co-ordinate and promote fund raising activities for the good of the New Zealand Association of Radio Transmitters and its members. The Fund Raising Officer will report to NZART Council, through an appointed Liaison Councillor and will work in conjunction with the national Association and its aims and objectives.
Duties of the Position
To promote Fund Raising Activities for the Association.
To research and keep under review the rules and conditions needed for the Association to obtain grants for identified projects etc.
To manage and co-ordinate applications for these grants.
To co-ordinate the applications for sponsorships for the Association for identified projects.
To Liaise with Branches, Council, and Affiliate Clubs re fund raising activities.
To report to members of the Association through the Official Journal of progress being made, from time to time.
To work with the Association Treasurer on Fund Raising Activities.
The Fund Raising Officer will be expected to demonstrate competent performance in:
Being able to maintain accurate and detailed records.
Being able to manage a small financial budget.
Have good written language skills for competent communication with members, businesses, and fund holders.
Being able to work within time constraints and dead lines for applications.
The Fund Raising Officer will require:
Good person skills.
Understanding of the requirements and issues involved in applying for grants and sponsorships.
A good knowledge of Amateur Radio and the aims of NZART
The position is an unpaid annual appointment by Council, however operating expenses will be refunded as per NZART policy on Officer Expenses.
