The New Zealand Association of Radio Transmitters Incorporated

Position: Electro-Magnetic Compatibility (EMC) Officer

Location: Unrestricted within New Zealand

Responsible to: NZART Council

Description of Position

NZART is a body that promotes Amateur Radio within New Zealand.

  1. The EMC Officer is appointed by NZART Council to provide specialist advice to council on Electro-Magnetic Compatibility and related matters.
  2. The EMC Officer reports to NZART Council, through an appointed Liaison Councilor.

Duties of the Position

  1. Co-ordination of EMC matters on behalf of NZART Council, liasing with Council and other officers as required.
  2. Provide a contact point on for Amateur Radio, on EMC matters for other organisations and companies.
  3. Provide specialist advice to Council on matters relating to EMC.
  4. Manage an approved budget from Council.
  5. Report regularly to Council, at least 3 monthly, plus a written annual report by 20th. January.

Work Experience

The EMC Officer would be an experienced amateur operator, and will demonstrate competent performance in:

  1. Electrical or Electronics engineering or related topics.
  2. Managing small financial budgets.

Personal Qualities

The EMC Officer will require:

  1. Good person skills.
  2. A willingness to keep up to date with technical aspects related to EMC.
  3. A good knowledge of amateur radio and the aims of NZART.

Resources

The position is an unpaid annual appointment by Council, however operating expenses will be refunded as per NZART policy on Officer Expenses.
