Awards Manager

The New Zealand Association of Radio Transmitters Incorporated

Position: Awards Manager

Location: Unrestricted within New Zealand

Responsible to: NZART Council

Description of Position

NZART is a body that promotes Amateur Radio within New Zealand.

  1. The Awards Manager is an officer appointed by NZART Council to manage awards issuing and related matters, and provides specialist advice to council on related matters.
  2. The Awards Manager reports to NZART Council, through an appointed Liaison Councilor.

Duties of the Position

  1. Co-ordination of Awards on behalf of NZART Council, liasing with Council and other officers as required.
  2. Receive, process and post out all applications for NZART Awards in a timely and accurate manner, keeping records where applicable.
  3. Receive, and process applications for overseas Society awards, when requested.
  4. Issue award information for all NZART and DX Awards, as and when required.
  5. Ensure adequate stocks of Awards Certificates are on hand and arrange for printing when required.
  6. Liase with overseas societies, and provide a contact point for NZART on matters relating to Awards.
  7. Provide specialist advice to Council on matters relating to Awards.
  8. Manage an approved budget from Council.
  9. Report regularly to Council, at least 3 monthly, plus a written annual report by 20th January.

Work Experience

The Awards Manager would be an experienced amateur operator, and will demonstrate competent performance in:

  1. Maintaining accurate and detailed records.
  2. Managing small financial budgets.

Personal Qualities

The Awards Manager will require:

  1. Good person skills.
  2. Understanding of the requirements and issue of Amateur Radio awards.
  3. A good knowledge of amateur radio and the aims of NZART.
  4. The position is an unpaid annual appointment by Council, however operating expenses will be refunded as per NZART policy on Officer Expenses.
