The Te Puke Amateur Radio Club was founded in the Te Puke district of the Western Bay of Plenty in 1928 and retains the current call sign of it's founder member ZL1IB.
The club currently has some 30 members who come from Te Puke and the surrounding districts. It has members from a far away as Waihi in the North, Te Awamutu in the west and Wakatane in the South.
The Club is open to members and visitors each Saturday afternoon where you can enjoy fellowship as well as the opportunity to operate the excellent club radio station. The Club "Shack" is equipped with the latest up to date HF, VHF and UHF gear and is QRV on all bands on all modes.
Our many facetted hobby has all manner of techno enthusiasts and the Club tries to cater for these diverse activities of our hobby. APRS, SSTV, Digital modes, SSB, CW.
And many other.
Please feel free to visit our Club rooms if you are ever in our district. Visiting hams from far off lands are especially welcome!
