The Rhododendron Award
This award is run every year to coincide with Taranaki Rhododendron & Garden Festival.
The dates for 2010 are: 29 October to 7 November
The Award certificate will be one of a series of coloured hand-painted prints of named Rhododendron varieties by the well-known Taranaki artist, Janet Marshall.
Award Rules

All Amateurs and Shortwave Listeners may apply for the award - Operating Conditions
Contacts may be made on any band, any mode. Stations may only be worked once.
Main operating frequencies are:
3.660 MHz - Rhodo Net
3.677 MHz - ZL Awards Net
720 New Plymouth & 705 Egmont Repeaters plus the National System - Points
Points are awarded for working Taranaki stations as follows:
5 points - ZL6RFA The Special Event station (compulsory contact for ZL stations)
3 points - Taranaki Club Stations:
ZL2AB New Plymouth
ZL2QF South Taranaki
ZL2TO Waitara
ZL2ANN Rahotu Coastal
ZL2PT Inglewood
1 point - Any other individual Taranaki station whose usual base station is in Taranaki - Totals Points Required
New Zealand stations require 25 points and must work ZL6RFA.
Overseas stations require only 6 points and may work ZL6RFA, but is not a compulsory contact. - Logs and Closing Date
