From The NZART Business Manager Debby ZL2TDM

Debby says

Web page down...sorry folks a small oversight saw our web page being down. For some years now, a member generously donated the annual hosting fee, however like everyone else these days, this was no longer possible.

Although we have renewed the hosting fee for this year, Council together with the Business Management Sub Committee will be reviewing this and many other costs incurred by the Association over the next few months. Now more than ever it is extremely important that all areas of the Association where expenditure is required, are carefully analysed so we get the best value for money.

Elections...The Returning Officer will advise the election results later in this issue, however I would like to take the opportunity to thank all those members who took the time to place their vote. It has been an excellent response especially given the shaky beginning. Postal returns have exceeded any other election year that I have been involved with.

Conference 2009...Details of the 2009 Conference in Hastings can be found on our web page and in Break In. If you are considering going, make sure you get in early and book your accommodation, as I understand there are a number of other events in Hastings over Queens Birthday weekend.

I will be sending out Branch Circulars within the next couple of weeks. Included in these will be your branch's membership statistics that you will need for voting. If you have something you wish to circulate to other branches, please send to me in electronic format preferably.

Talk soon...Debby ZL2TDM

HF Contests

Last weekend's RSGB Commonwealth Contest attracted a fair number of ZL participants, although one, or two more would have been welcome to bolster up the NZ Team Scores. Band conditions were much like the predictions forecast, although on the Sunday North Pole Auroral activity played it's part in the deterioration of 20m and 80m band conditions. Hopefully there may be an improvement this weekend for the advertised activities.
