The purpose of this NZART Top Intruder Watcher Award is to encourage all listeners and radio amateurs to actively report unusual signals or suspected intruders on the allocated international and IARU Region 3 radio frequencies from VLF to Microwave. The purpose of these reports to assist the NZART Monitoring System Co-ordinator who collates and verifies potential intruders, who invade our precious finite radio frequencies. This information will be recorded for evidential purposes and where appropriate action taken to remove the intruder. There is a very long history of radio amateurs and listeners' providing such reports to ensure that the allocated frequencies are protected for the enjoyment of all.
