28-September-2008 A Technical Problem-Can Anyone Help Please?On another matter, but of interest, no doubt, to those who run 572B tubes in their Amps a US Reflector recently advised that the manufacture of these tubes for RF use has been discontinued by the Chinese manufacturers - apparently the audiophiles have taken over and the audio related 572B tubes appear to be the only type of 572B that will be available in the future. Perhaps an online enquiry at RF Parts, the major US tube supplier, www.rfparts.com will give a lead to availability of RF suitable 572B tubes-John ZL1BHQ...

18-September-2008 ACMA Acts Against Amateurs Operating ImproperlyFollowing a number of representations by the WIA to ACMA and a face to face meeting between the WIA and ACMA officers on 28th June 2008, ACMA has now advised the WIA that it has taken a number of regulatory actions against amateur licensees operating in breach of the amateur licensing conditions.... NOTE:The ACMA (Australian Communications and Media Authority) is the Australia Administrtion equivalent to NZs MED (Ministry of Economical Development).

Ten points required for ZL applicants (five points for DX stations) may be accumulated as follows: ZL1KW worth 5 points, Branch President Barry ZL1CAY or Vice President Kel ZL1ASL worth 3 points, any other branch member worth 1 point. 1.
